Calculatly Privacy Policy — How We Handle Your Data
Last updated: August 22, 2026
How Calculatly handles your data: calculator inputs stay in your browser, we do not require accounts, and we explain cookies, analytics, and ads clearly.
Calculatly (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates calculatly.com, a free website of online calculators. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Calculatly, you agree to the practices described here.
The short version
- Calculator inputs run in your browser — we do not store what you type into a tool
- We do not require accounts, so we do not build profiles tied to your name
- We use standard analytics and advertising services that may collect usage data and cookies
- You choose analytics and advertising cookies on first visit, and can change that anytime
- You can contact us anytime with privacy questions or requests
Information we do not collect from calculators
When you use a calculator on Calculatly, the math and logic run locally in your web browser. We do not send your calculator inputs to our servers for storage, and we do not maintain a database of what you entered. Closing the tab clears that session from your device.
Some calculators may use reference data (for example, growth charts or tax brackets) that is loaded with the page. That data is public reference material, not personal information you provide.
Information we may collect automatically
Like most websites, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical and usage information when you visit calculatly.com, including:
- IP address (often truncated or anonymized by analytics providers)
- Browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages visited, time spent, and referring website
- General location derived from IP address (country or region level)
- Cookie identifiers and similar tracking technologies
We use this information to understand how the site is used, fix errors, improve performance, and measure advertising effectiveness.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site operation, analytics, and advertising. Cookies are small text files stored on your device. They may be set by us or by third-party partners whose services appear on our pages.
Types of cookies we may use include:
- Essential cookies — required for basic site functionality
- Analytics cookies — help us understand traffic and usage patterns
- Advertising cookies — used by ad networks to show relevant ads and limit repeat impressions
On your first visit we show a consent banner so you can accept all cookies, reject optional ones, or customize analytics and advertising. Essential cookies — including the one that stores this choice — stay on. You can change your preferences anytime from Cookie settings in the footer. We keep that choice for up to 180 days, then ask again.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking or deleting cookies may affect how some parts of the site work. Your browser may also offer a “Do Not Track” signal; we do not currently respond to DNT signals in a uniform way across all third-party services.
Advertising
Calculatly is free because we display advertising. Ad partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to deliver ads, measure performance, and personalize ad content based on your browsing activity across sites that participate in their networks.
We do not sell your personal information in exchange for money. Some privacy laws define “sale” or “sharing” broadly to include certain advertising practices. Where applicable, you may have the right to opt out — contact us at the address below and we will help you exercise available choices.
Third-party ad networks have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review the policies of any ad or analytics providers whose services appear on our site.
Analytics
We use web analytics tools to collect aggregated statistics about visits — for example, which pages are popular and how users navigate the site. Analytics data is generally not used to identify you personally, though providers may process IP addresses and cookie data according to their own policies.
Affiliate links
Some pages may include affiliate links to third-party products or services. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate partners may use cookies to attribute referrals. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies.
How we use information
We use the information described in this policy to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve calculatly.com
- Understand usage trends and fix bugs
- Display and measure advertising
- Respond to your inquiries and support requests
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights
How we share information
We do not rent or sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing. We may share information with:
- Service providers who help us run the site (hosting, analytics, advertising)
- Law enforcement or regulators when required by law or to protect rights and safety
- A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
Service providers are permitted to use information only to perform services on our behalf.
Data retention
We retain automatically collected usage data only as long as needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law. Analytics and ad partners apply their own retention schedules. Calculator inputs are not retained by us because they are processed locally in your browser.
Children's privacy
Calculatly is intended for a general audience. Some health calculators (for example, baby growth tools) may be used by parents entering information about their children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information, or to opt out of some advertising-related processing. You can also update analytics and advertising cookies anytime from Cookie settings in the footer.
To make a request, email hello@calculatly.com with the subject line “Privacy request” and describe what you need. We may ask you to verify your request. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA. EEA, UK, and Swiss residents may have rights under GDPR. We will honor applicable requests regardless of your location where feasible.
International visitors
Calculatly is operated from the United States. If you access the site from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. or other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your home country.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be noted on the site. Continued use of Calculatly after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
